Liberty!

by Alan Munde

This is one of the more engaging tunes in the Great American Songbook. The same tune is called The Tipsy Parson in England and in parts of New England and French-Canada it is called Reel á Ti-Jean. It is in the key of D and is played without a capo. When playing in D I almost always capo the fifth string to A. This tune is featured on the CD "Old Friends" that I recorded with my old friend Wayne Shrubsall.

[Editor's note: Wayne Shrubsall's clawhammer version can be found in the February 2005 issue of BanjoSessionsTM. The CD of three finger and clawhammer banjo duets and tab books can be found at http://AlanMunde.com or from Alan at P.O. Box 8240, Levelland TX 79338]
